When Oaklands Year 9 football team took part in the 75th Anniversary NACYP International in Blackpool, player/journalist Sofian Amrani was there to record the five day event.

'Our trip to the International Football Tournament was a great opportunity for the whole team.  We all knew that this was an important national event and that a good team spirit would be crucial to our success.  We worked hard throughout the event and this positive and supportive atmosphere helped us to a number of victories until we eventually lost in the semi-finals.  Our coach, Mr. Graves and co-manager Dara were incredibly helpful so we owe them a very big thank-you.  Some of the highlights were meeting Ugo Ehiogu and winning the Fairplay award.

We were really proud of winning this award because it showed we were good ambassadors for Oaklands,
Connect 5 and East London!
